1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Tutcart's platform, services, and community. By accessing or using Tutcart, you agree to comply with this policy. Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

Important Notice

Tutcart® is a trademark of ROFL Technologies Private Limited. This AUP is governed by Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, POCSO Act, 2012, and Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Violations may be reported to law enforcement.

2. Scope & Application

This policy applies to all users of Tutcart, including:

Covered Users

  • Tutors (verified and pending)
  • Students (all ages)
  • Parents and guardians
  • Institutional administrators
  • Visitors and guests

Covered Activities

  • All platform interactions
  • Tutoring sessions (online/offline)
  • Messaging and communications
  • Content uploads and sharing
  • Reviews and feedback

3. General Conduct Standards

All users must adhere to the following conduct standards:

  • Treat all users with respect and professionalism
  • Communicate honestly and transparently
  • Honor commitments and scheduled sessions
  • Protect the privacy of others
  • Report violations and safety concerns promptly
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Use the platform for its intended educational purpose

4. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on Tutcart:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) - Zero tolerance, immediate police reporting
  • Sexual or pornographic content
  • Violent or graphic content
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Terrorist or extremist content
  • Content promoting self-harm or suicide
  • Defamatory or libelous content
  • Malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Spam or unsolicited advertising
  • Copyrighted material without permission
  • Personal information of others
  • Fraudulent or misleading information

5. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

Platform Abuse

  • Creating fake or multiple accounts
  • Impersonating others or misrepresenting identity
  • Circumventing platform fees or payment systems
  • Conducting transactions outside the platform
  • Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection
  • Attempting to hack or compromise platform security
  • Manipulating reviews, ratings, or search rankings

Harmful Behavior

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Stalking or unwanted contact
  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Discrimination based on protected characteristics
  • Grooming or inappropriate contact with minors
  • Soliciting personal meetings without consent

Academic Misconduct

  • Completing assignments or exams on behalf of students
  • Providing answers during proctored examinations
  • Facilitating plagiarism or cheating
  • Falsifying credentials or qualifications
  • Misrepresenting educational outcomes

6. Tutor-Specific Rules

Tutors must adhere to additional professional standards:

Professional Standards

  • Maintain accurate and truthful profile information
  • Only claim qualifications you possess
  • Deliver sessions as described and scheduled
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times
  • Dress appropriately for video sessions
  • Ensure a professional, distraction-free environment

⚠️ MANDATORY for Tutors of Minor Students

  • NEVER request personal contact information from minors
  • NEVER arrange meetings outside the platform
  • NEVER engage in personal conversations unrelated to education
  • NEVER share personal social media with minor students
  • ALWAYS maintain visible, professional conduct
  • IMMEDIATELY report any concerning disclosures

7. Student-Specific Rules

Students must adhere to the following standards:

Student Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled sessions on time
  • Come prepared with necessary materials
  • Treat tutors with respect and professionalism
  • Provide honest feedback and reviews
  • Do not share tutor contact information publicly
  • Do not request tutors to complete assignments for you
  • Report any inappropriate behavior immediately

8. Communication Standards

All communications on Tutcart must be:

  • Professional and respectful
  • Related to educational purposes
  • Clear and constructive
  • Conducted through platform channels
  • Appropriate for all audiences

✗ Unacceptable

  • Abusive or threatening language
  • Sexual or romantic advances
  • Sharing personal contact details
  • Soliciting off-platform transactions
  • Spam or promotional content

9. Intellectual Property

Respect intellectual property rights:

  • Do not share copyrighted materials without permission
  • Do not record sessions without consent from all parties
  • Do not redistribute tutor-created content
  • Respect Tutcart's trademarks and branding
  • Report copyright infringement to [email protected]

10. Safety & Security

Help us maintain a safe platform:

Account Security

  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Enable two-factor authentication
  • Never share your login credentials
  • Log out from shared devices
  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Personal Safety

  • Do not share personal addresses or locations
  • Be cautious about sharing personal information
  • Meet in-person only in public places (if ever)
  • Trust your instincts - report anything suspicious

11. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any violation of this policy:

  • Include: User details, description of violation, screenshots/evidence
  • Response: We will acknowledge within 24 hours
  • Confidentiality: Reports are kept confidential where possible
  • No Retaliation: We prohibit retaliation against good-faith reporters

🚨 EMERGENCY: Child Safety Concerns

For immediate child safety concerns, contact local police (100) or Childline (1098) immediately, then notify us at [email protected]. We are mandated reporters under POCSO Act.

12. Enforcement & Penalties

Violations of this policy may result in:

Minor Violations

  • Warning and education
  • Content removal
  • Temporary feature restrictions

Serious Violations

  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent feature restrictions
  • Removal from search results
  • Withholding of pending payments

Severe Violations

  • Immediate and permanent account termination
  • Forfeiture of all pending payments
  • Reporting to law enforcement
  • Civil legal action for damages
  • Criminal prosecution where applicable
